At NXTGen Technology, we provide comprehensive technical services to clients looking to outsource all or parts of their IT infrastructure support and maintenance. Many of our clients consider us their IT department. We handle everything from day-to-day support and helpdesk functions to providing resources for IT Projects and Engineering.

Proactive Monitoring and Management

 

We excel at remotely managed and operated networks and use best of breed tools and applications to provide a fast and efficient support service. Our tools also allow us to monitor each desktop, server, printer, and network device and check them for software and firmware updates, vulnerabilities, CPU, memory and disk usage and even ink levels in supported printers. These give us a heads up to potential issues before they become a problem.

We can also handle software delivery and patch management. New software requirements can be pushed to machines on a global, location, or user-specific basis, depending on your requirements. This is the same for Windows updates; updates can be approved for delivery and pushed to devices at a convenient time so as not to interfere with a user’s working day.

Repetitive tasks such as clearing logs or performing manual backups of files on devices can be automated using our powerful scripting technology. Any device capable of being accessed remotely can receive commands silently from our management tools, without interrupting the end user’s workflow.

Price Structure

Our approach to desktop and server support contracts follows a simple structure. Rather than breaking costs down into tasks, we prefer to price on a per device basis. The device cost includes day-to-day support, moves/adds and changes, patching of desktop and server operating systems, firmware, and driver updates.

Where possible, we will attempt to resolve an issue remotely using the tools available, but when required, we will dispatch an engineer to the site to assist. We also understand that your systems are critical to your business. So, tasks that are likely to cause downtime are performed by our out of hours team.

Seamless Onboarding

We try and make the onboarding of a managed IT customer as seamless as possible; this requires several tasks that are included free of charge on 3-year contracts:

 

  • Installation of remote access clients on all PCs and servers where required
  • Migration of existing network hardware to our cloud-managed controller
  • Installation of a dedicated device to perform local network and device monitoring
  • Audit of current network and infrastructure to be included in the CMDB (configuration management database)
  • Remediation of an agreed outstanding issues list
  • Documentation and Monitoring Portal Training if required
  • Aged hardware report to identify potential at-risk devices

Reporting and User Support

We will provide regular service reviews and reporting of tickets and tasks completed to help identify trends and problems. We can then agree on remediation strategies and solutions to mitigate repetitive issues with devices, solutions, and processes. These reviews can be as frequent or infrequent as required but quarterly would be our recommendation.

We understand that business software and hardware requirements change from time to time. If not managed correctly, these can cause difficulties in adjusting for users. We can provide training services in formats such as 121, Train the Trainer or Workshops for large groups. We will work with suppliers to learn the products being supplied and then provide an end-user training session. This is more helpful than normal supplier training as it will be the same engineers training and supporting your users, which helps build trust and familiarisation between both parties.
